A successful judgment collection business is rooted in large part on the ability of the judgment collector to prevail in the filing or opposition of motions. The enforcer will find a multitude of situations which require a special court order. This is your opportunity to convince the court to grant the order necessary to collect your judgment. There are risks as well critical elements to motion practice which will be the focus of this workshop.
Take advantage of the knowledge that will be shared by CAJP’s speakers who are each highly experienced litigators. Niles Sharif has 17 years of law and motion experience. His mastery of legal writing has earned him an appearance before the California Supreme Court as well as public speaking engagements on the subject of legal writing. Attorney David Skinner’s area of expertise is judgment enforcement. He will share his specialized knowledge of post-judgment motions. Daniel Skinner, Esq. was formerly a research attorney for the Orange County Superior Court. Because he has overseen at least 3,000 motions, he brings a unique inside perspective on what the court’s research attorney is looking for and what is likely to be a wasted effort.
